MeteOcean on the national stage: Six presentations at IDRA 2026 in Naples

Between 9 and 11 September 2026, the XL National Conference of Hydraulics and Hydraulic Constructions (IDRA 2026) gathered the Italian hydraulic engineering and research community at the Stazione Marittima in Naples.

Our team was represented by six oral presentations spanning coastal monitoring, wave characterization, environmental management, and coastal hazard risks under climate change.

Taken together, the six presentations listed below reflect the full-breadth of MeteOcean's research agenda – from instrumentation and monitoring in the field, to environmental regulation, to large-scale climate modeling and the protection of cultural heritage sites from the rising seas.

We had a great three days in Naples. The conference brought together researchers, engineers, and practitioners working across the full spectrum of hydraulic science – from river and urban flooding to coastal and marine processes, to water resources and environmental management. We are grateful to the IDRA 2026 organizing committee for a well-run and stimulating conference, and to all colleagues who were a part of this insightful event with us.
