Sea level changes from the Pliocene to today
Alessio is a geoscientist, Professor at Ca' Foscari University of Venice and recipient of a ERC Starting Grant WARMCOASTS - Sea level and extreme waves in the Last Interglacial.
His research focuses on understanding sea-level changes in the past through the measurement of past sea-level indicators and comparison with earth models to unravel the magnitude of eustatic, isostatic, and tectonic processes. He also has a parallel interest in modern coastal environments, investigating coastal erosion, extreme wave events, interactions between ecological and geological processes, and trajectories of coastlines and nearshore environments under changing climates and sea levels.
